Barbara, >I noticed on Paul's website that the chip resetter used for the >C86 is modified. It's actually a separate piece of plastic that has been modified. The chip re-setter comes with the accessory that allows it to fit various carts. >Does that mean it cannot be used for, say, chips on refillable >1280 carts? No, the 1280 black cart fits the re-setter without the use of the accessory at all. The 1280 color cart doesn't fit no matter what you do. (Well, some modification may work but ...) So, I reset those chips by putting them on the 1280 black cart first for resetting. >Have been using filled MIS carts and am changing to refillables. I'm not a fan of 1280 filling. I do it all the time, but bottom filling bypasses the filter that protects the heads, and there have been a couple batches of carts over that last year that have had one color or the other just not feed right. You'll know if one color goes blank. Hopefully MIS has procured better carts now. Good luck. Paul www.PaulRoark.com
