Danny, Looks like the manufacturer of the MIS high capacity black cartridge missed / skipped the process step of creating the fill hole. I had to drill a fill hole in my 2 high capacity black cartridges when I got them. I checked the drill bit size via the fill hole in one of the "color" cartridges and drilled a hole between the webbed / support area over the fill section - went slightly undersize. I drilled the hole with the cartridge upside down and the drill below it to minimize any FOD (foreign object debris) from getting into the cartridge. Then I used a pointed Xacto knife and opened up the hole at an angle to match the rubber cork and fit checked occasionally. This was just a minor holdup that only set me back about 10 minutes and was well worth the effort. Well, add another 15 minutes to find the drill and drill bits! I placed a support request with MIS and they replied to return them and that they would replace them. I responded that it was too late as I drilled them out already as I was anxious to try out the EZ inks, and then I suggested that they check their stock to see if this was a problem. Never got a response back, but it appears that this was a current lot problem from the email responses today. I received another set of the "color" ink cartridges last night, spare chips, and some EZ-W ink to check out the variations from neutral to warm. I'm glad that Paul Roark recommended having extra chips available as the M cartridge chip registered as always being empty, even after successful resetting. Its either a bad chip or its for a different cartridge. Anyone know if the C86 logic looks for the proper cartridge info per the inserted slot? Thanks to Paul Roark and MIS, I've got the B&W "darkroom" that I've wanted for 32 years! Take care, Scott Danny Twang wrote: > Got MIS EZ ink and empty cartridges today, and have filled the Y, M, C. > But on my High capacity Black cartridge there are no hole for filling > the ink. > There are only two vent holes in the sponge section and of course the > exit port.
