QTR Win XP - Curves Creation & Modification

2005-01-25 by Shilesh Jani

Hey All,

OK after a number of years using FS based custom inks on my 1280, I
am experimenting with QTR on a 2200. I must say it is the easiest
new b/w system I have ever used. Excellent work Roy and Stephen.

I prefer my prints on either side of "neutral" but not dead-nuts
neutral. I love the warm curves of QTR, but am less than satified
with the CoolSe curves. Here is my issue - I believe I may be more
senstive to magenta than most, so this is not a generalization. How
do I modify the CoolSe, or create my own curves so that there is just
a hint of less magenta and more cyan ink layed down? I have tried
various blends of Cool, CoolSe, and Warm curves, but still, on the
cool side of neutral, the magnta is annoying me.

I dont have any profiling experience, but have access to an EyeOne
system, and have spents tons of time creating adjustment curves for
linearization.

Thank you for your help. It is good to be back exprimenting after so
long just making satisfactory prints.

Regards

Shilesh
