Thanks, I do have a Epson 1270 with dedicated MIS b/w inks, but it decided to have some head clogging problems that I still can't resolve so I moved to the QTR on my 2200 to get some work out. Actually, so far I like the QTR with the 2200 better anyway. Jake Fine Art Photography www.jakehellbachphoto.com <http://www.jakehellbachphoto.com/> _____ From: Steve Kale [mailto:stevekale@...] QTR can work with ANY ink set so long as you control the ink jets correctly. In my experience the MIS Ultrachrome 7600 colour inks are stable (and I understand they have a longevity equivalent or better than the Epson UC inks). Up until very recently I had the same set up as you (albeit a 2100). With good curves this does ok. Moving to dedicated B&W inks (I still use the MIS 7600 UC inks for colour in the same 2100) and introducing glop so that you can print effectively to RC papers will give you another huge jump forward. > From: Jake Hellbach <jake@...> > Organization: Jake Hellbach Photography > Reply-To: <DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com> > Date: Sat, 29 Jan 2005 07:16:22 -0600 > To: <DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com> > Subject: RE: [Digital BW] Re: QTR/Epson Inks > > > O.K., now I'm confused. > Does this hold true for any printer?
