Digital BW, The Print

Hello all-

I've been having great success with QTR so far although there is a bit
of a learning curve.  Unfortunately, I have problems with shadow
banding when I switch to matte black.  It seems QTR has a problem
making the transition from gray areas to black areas with matte black.
Photo black looks great but I'd like to get the richer contrast I can
get with matte black ink.  It's as if QTR does not differentiate
between the 2 different types of black ink so when matte black is
used, it is easy to see
where the printer lays the matte black vs. gray inks.  BTW, I've tried
multiple curve
settings as well as differing dither patterns.  Any help is
appreciated!
