Re: [Digital BW] Removing Pizza wheels in Epson 1290

I've removed mine from a 1280 so I may use LYSON DARKROOM GLOSS..Something
like 320 gsm!..
I've had no problems so far, except that 13x19" sheets have a tendency to
curl up coming out of the chute, and can scuff against the "un-rollered"
metal bar..What I do is "manually" slip my fingers along the extreme top
sides (beyond the picture area, along the border) of the paper, and exert a
slight "downward pressure as it exits the machine..somewhat time consuming,
but it does the trick, and the results with Lyson's FOTONIC inks are
incredible..IMHO...

Has anyone here removed the pizza wheels in an Epson 1280/1290 ?
Are they needed for the paper to transport properly?
