but I do know that the epson9600 diary at outbackphoto.com has a
method of resetting the maintenance tanks chip here:

It works great, but as the article says, check the tank now and again
to make sure it isn't too full - i forgot the first time and after 2
or 3 resets it was about as full as it would get without spillage.
