Windows (XP) should have shipped with something called Movie Maker II. I am pretty sure this app can export a still once you get the footage digitized. Mac operating system should have come with something called iMovie which can also export a still. You can use your VCR and a MiniDv camera to digitize the footage. From the back of the VCR, use RCA cables to Miniplug to send video "out" to the Minidv cam "in". From the dvcam go out thru the firewire to the computer. Within the program there should be some kind of "capture" button.-just capture the footage you want to work with- it doesn't matter if you get more because once in the program you are going to be able to move frame by frame to the spot you are interested in. Somewhere in the program MovieMaker or iMovie-there is a "capture still" or "export frame" function. Name it, save it, and open in PS-video filters/de-interlace and you are there- It's easier to do than explain!-Jack
