I have just moved from MIS QVM inks to UT2 on my 1290 and the same image files are printing significantly denser from about 50% K. I am using the Photo Quality Glossy Film/1440 dpi settings for both Epson Archival Matte and Ilford Smooth Pearl. I have read Paul's write-up on UT2 inks and understand that to reduce density I should adjust both the Green and Red curves the same amount. I use Picture Window Pro so do not have Transfer Curves and therefore will have to adjust the actual curve and save as new. However, some questions for Paul: 1. How much adjustment is usually needed? 2. Will curve adjustment of the IlfordSmooth Eboni curves affect control of the black ink? 3. How is the black ink switched OFF? 4. Which 21 step file did you use for EAM and ISE? Re messages about delivery to the UK and QC, I concur. The service is fast but there does seem to be problems with cartridge chips. I must however emphasise that MIS replace faulty items without question. Garry Bisshopp.
