Digital BW, The Print

I want to get a printer to dedicate to Quadtone printing (CIS MIS because
Piezography costs so so much more) -  1270 's are available at almost half
the cost of 1280. Not being too tech minded I would need a more-or-less
turnkey solution for getting up and running (curves etc.) - so is this a
great obstacle with the 1270 and MIS inks ? I understand allyou need to get
going is available for the 1280.
I know Piezography have a PS plugin which is extremely attractive but the
kit costs more than the printer.
