2200 Cart Change Tip

2005-02-25 by Clayton Jones

Hello All,

In the past, changing a cart on the 2200 almost always required a
cleaning cycle or two to get the new cart started. The other day the
phone rang just after I inserted a couple of new carts, _before_ I
pressed the Ink button. So the carts sat there for 5 minutes or so
while I was on the phone.

Then I pressed the Ink button, the printer did its usual noises and
flickering lights, and the first nozzle check was perfect. No extra
cleaning cycles needed. I have since done this 3 or 4 times with the
same results (I was experimenting with different UT7 combinations). I
put in the carts and then take a short break before pressing the
Ink button.

Apparently those few minutes of waiting allows the ink to flow down
into the head. No more frustrating, ink wasting and time consuming
cleaning cycles.

Regards,
Clayton
