Tomek, I've used the original CIS (not the MIS CFS) with my 1280 for about four years. I've had only two problems in that time. The first problem was in the beginning when I was trying to use InkjetMall's original pigment color inks with the system. Clogging was a major problem and I ultimately returned the inks for a refund. I then switched the printer/CIS to the MIS VM inkset. I never had any problems with that set and then switched to the UT2 inks after they became available. The UT2 inks were trouble-free as well until a couple of weeks ago when the black cartridge began to cause problems. I replaced the cartridge without any problems, but now the printer is apparently dying and I'm considering buying a new 1280 and continuing to use this old CIS and the UT2 inks (in part because of the $100 rebate on the printer and the fact that I have a year's supply of UT2 ink that I just bought). For all practical purposes, this printer/CIS/UT2 ink combination been trouble-free for me and I'd highly recommend either this setup or the use of the new refillable cartridges that are apparently on their way from MIS. Good luck! Tom Keesling Intelligent Design
