Digital BW, The Print

When I run the profile installer it reports that the printer isn't
found.  It's on, and I can print to it thru gimp-print and add the QTR
printer.  Any suggestions?  I'm running gimp-print 4.2.7 on OS 10.3
and the printer is an Epson 3000 connected with a usb to parallel
cable plugged directly into the computer.
