Same thing here with a Matte Black cart for UT7, Epson 2200.
So far I've just initiated a support request for another chip.
I think MIS inks are great but some of the manufacturing
solutions they chose for replacement parts could take a lot
of improvement. As far as chips are concerned, there should
be a fairly straighforward way for them to implement some sort
of QC before shipping.
Regards
Andrei

Subject: [Digital BW] MIS UT7 cartridges
I also recently ordered and got replacement cartridges and what I
got are VERY different. (Read cheaper made junk.) They also don't
work the same in my 2200. No positive click into position which
means the chip contacts don't mate properly, because the spring clip
is less stiff, which means the printer don't recognize the
cartridge. The second time this happened to me the replacement
cartridge came with a little orange wedge holding the spring clip
open. No help there. When I installed the cartridge it still refused
to be recognized, until I replaced the chip - yes replaced - the
chip with one the tech guy at MIS sent me.
They also seem to drain ink a lot faster than they should. I mean I
just printed three black only 13 x 19's moderately weighted toward
the darker values and already the ink monitor software is showing me
a drop of a quarter inch in ink level!
Something is rotten here. I smell a rip-off at MIS.
