An interesting guess, but I don't think it can be the case this time - my photos are 8x10 on A3, so the printed bit doesn't hit any sensors until the paper has advanced quite a way - but the printer is rejecting the paper after just 2 cm or so. Also the printer is refusing to load even UNprinted stock reverse-side- up.
