I think you can get pretty close just modifying one of the existing profiles. In QTRgui you can do the following: 1. Click 'Curve creation'. 2. File > Open > c:\Program files\QuadToneRIP\Profiles\2200-uc\UCmk-MEntradaNatural-sepia.qidf 3. Raise the ink limits for LM and Y (they should be 29 and 10 in the existing profile). You can think of the ink limits for LC, LM and Y as CMY values just like you would mix in Photoshop. The higher you set one of them the stronger that ink will tone your print. 4. Save the profile with a new name like UCmk-MEntradaNatural-brown.qidf in the same folder. 5. Click 'Create curve'. The profile should now appear in the 'Curves' drop-down list when you print. I made a test curve raising LM to 45 and Y to 25 here: http://download.petraflux.com/UCmk-MEntradaNatural-brown.zip Increasing the density of the toner also increases the density of the whole curve of course, so ideally you would want to relinearize after doing this. You might find that smaller changes are acceptable without relinearizing though. -- Daniel Staver http://daniel.staver.no > Has anyone successfully made a Chocolate Brown profile for QTR and UC > ink.
