Paul, I beg for your patience! I just installed QTR for my 1280 using MIS's VM inks. I have substituted Eboni black for the VM black and am using Picture Window Pro. I selected the UT2 profile for Espon EEM since there is no profile for VM. I then printed a 21 Black>Grey>White step chart on EEM. Unexpectedly, the chart printed perfectly with distinct, uniform changes from one step to the next all the way from darkest total black to no ink white. Having obtained such good results for the step chart, I then tried to print a B&W photo that I have printed out just fine using my Epson 880, dye inks, and the Epson driver. However, the same print with no modifications came out very flat and thin, ie, insufficient ink, except where Eboni was laid down. The Eboni areas were TOTAL dark black. I used the same work flow described on the MIS website for both the chart and the photo. Any ideas why all tones of ink are so thin except Eboni which is too dark? (InkJetArt is closing out the VM inks at $4.00/4 oz bottle compared to $16.00/4 oz bottle for UT2. Being this is a hobby and I'm just getting started, I purchased the VM inks. If I had known what you previous said about VM, I would have purchased UT2.)
