Last year Epson introduced a "film only" Brit-nominclature "3200- sumthin'" (not similar to the US 3200 flatbed) and didn't even bother to mention it in the US (no surprise...photo-i reviewed it as equal or inferior to the 4870..at far bigger L$). Epson's an ace, but they're not nearly as adept at advertising as HP ( constant highly aggressive HP printer radio ads on my state's most expensive station). Seems like that film-only machine was a leaden trial baloon...maybe we'll never see a 2400 or 4800 in the US, instead a 2500 and a 5000? Maybe they're reading this group, aware of the enthusiasm for glossy and B&W :-) Is "Shutterbug" generally considered credible? Serious question. --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "steve_bye" <steve_bye@c...> wrote: > There was a very brief article in Shutterbug magazine, so the new printers > are for real.
