Jeff,

The best "glossy" papers, in particular the Epson Premium Semimatte, are so
good, I think the ability to print on both matte and glossy paper without
changing inks is critical. That is a huge plus to the UT7 approach.

Check out my Readme file on this approach. It's at
http://home1.gte.net/res09aij/UT7-7600-Readme.htm

I just use the Epson driver with Photoshop curves, but QTR or IJC are good
rip approaches that would work fine also. Having a variety of competing
workflows never hurts.

For papers, I think Epson UltraSmooth (aka PremierArt Fine Art Hot Press) is
the most durable and archival matte paper, but I like the Innova/Permajet
papers also, especially the non-OBA versions. I find I use rolls of EEM for
display-only matte prints, but then go to the non-OBA papers just noted for
matte.

Recently, the Semimatte is what I like best. With a coating of PremierArt
Print Shield its surface is tough enough to be displayed without glazing.
When dry mounted it is the closest thing to my old silver prints. The full
dynamic range being accessible to the viewers really matters, in my opinion.
However, some purchases don't trust the "glossy" media and want matte under
glass. So, I have to be able to print both easily.
