But I would also like to know what some of the pther members have tried. What would be the optimal with only three black inks? 100%, 50%, and 25%, or something different like 100%, 66%, and 33%. To me it seems like full black is good until around 40-50 density, so if you mix in the half black starting at 40, and then have the light black (25% pigment to clear) start to mix in around 65-70 you should be able to get a fairly good (smooth) transition from 0 (zero or full black) to 100 (paper white).
