Digital BW, The Print

I just received a set of clear carts from MIS for my Epson 2200. They 
state on their site that the capacity is aproximately 12cc. I filled 
this amount but the carts seem to have quite a bit of room for more 
ink. Does anybody know how much they will take when brand new and 
empty? How far from the top should the ink level be?

I also refill a Canon i9900 and it is critical to leave 1/4" of air
at 
the top when refilling. Is it the same with the Epson?
