OK just off the phone with Epson. The ink limits are hard-coded for each paper type selected. I think Joseph was tweaking the paper selection to get an increased ink load. I pleaded for an ink limit setting to be introduced into the 4000 and 4800 driver - I doubt it was heard. The available paper types are restricted when one selects, as I did, a "maximum" paper setting to get even 3mm margins on all sides - sheet media only. Apparently this also applies to the 4000. I was told this was a mechanical limitation although I am really puzzled as to what. So if one wants centred prints from sheet media then paper types are very limited. I guess I will have to get used to a 14mm trailing edge margin. As for ink consumption there doesn't appear to be any way other than the rough visual reading of getting a more accurate ink consumption figure per ink cartridge - just a total figure via the printer menu. > From: Louis Dina <lbdina@...> > Reply-To: <DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com> > Date: Fri, 03 Jun 2005 15:08:33 -0000 > To: <DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com> > Subject: [Digital BW] Re: Holy Moly 4800! > > Maybe the driver is set up differently than the 4000.
