Ifinally installed ImagePrint 4.0 here in the office today. It has been a busy week so far and this new project had to take a back seat. ImagePrint 4 is a visual RIP that allows the user to print RGB and Grayscale images. It comes with support for a number of printers inksets and paper profiles. These are mostly large format printers, however I believe that the company has plans for desktop printers to be added. The software includes within the driver support for Cone and Lyson Quad black inksets. Utilizing these inks, the user can print single channel grayscale or RBG grayscale continuous tone images. This is a WYSIWYG system that does not require any type of adjustment curve to be applied to the RGB or Grayscale image. Ink compartmentalization or whatever scheme the software is using is done in the driver. Although I purchased the RIP for color work in my office, I will report more as I work with it and make some quadtone images. Mike
