Digital BW, The Print

Hello,

I'm about to dip my toe in the digital printing pool and would like to start
experimenting a bit. I am looking for inks and paper to start out with. From
reading the posts here, I gather that the MIS inks are a good choice (I have
a 1280 printer), but I noticed they have different sets for matte and glossy
papers. In the darkroom I use glossy, fiber based papers, but I am not on a
quest to duplicate this look. If the consensus is that better results (read:
deep blacks, hassle minmization) are achieved with matte papers, I'll start
there. Again, I just need a reasonable starting point - I'm assuming
there'll be a lot of paper circular-filed before I get the hang of this.
