I expose and also develop my own film, specifically for low grain and high detail. I would make a chemical darkroom print of a negative and compare it to your scanned image first...before determining it's your scanning technique. Most people I know have found that their lense/development/exposure was lacking, and when that improved, magically they didn't need sharpening any more ;-) Regards, Austin
