Re: [Digital BW] 13" Matte Roll paper options

2005-06-14 by Anthony S. Tubbs

I would'nt necessary use a band saw except to get the large section off
then I would use a round blade modified to fit in a laths jig and cut
slowly and then use a razor on the dead edge. Now how to do is to give
a slight angle to blade, make sure the way you put the roll on the lath
is when it is turning clockwise with the unwind of the paper being
wound. Make sure the complete flap is tape to prevent tear and
unwinding. I have done this with all types of OPP and Lamination films
including matting for cold lamination. If the roll is smaller say less
than 100 feet then just a sharp razor knife at this angle will work.
