I think this is a good idea-we have to look at the bigger picture. 99% of the art-involved world have never heard of MIS and think of third party inks as those junky refill kits you buy at office supply stores. The legitimacy of some hard numbers generated by Wilhelm could help a lot in the future. I would also be willing to contribute to such a project if need be.
