Hello Roy, After making a series of beautiful glossy prints I proceeded to create profiles for matte papers and got quite puzzled by the apparent dottiness in the black only profile, a little less with toned profiles. Does QTR do anything differently for the matte nozzles, or is this how the Epson printhead for the R1800 is programmed to work? For now my workaround is to use the PK ink as the light gray with density/ink-limit at 12/30 and I'm able to create very smooth profiles, actually even smoother than my glossy ones, even smoother than the toned glossy profiles. Now I believe I can print a very wide range of media on the R1800 but still I wonder why there is such a difference. Also on a previous posting I mentioned some sort of banding around .6 inch within the top margin which I managed to avoid by printing with top-placement=0.6. But none of these issues are show stoppers. Overall the b/w prints produced by this printer with QTR are absolutely beautiful. Thanks, --nick
