Re: [Digital BW] Digest Number 3279

I remember the first print I ever made with Piezography on my old 1200
printer. I was simply blown away by the smoothness and shadow detail that were
missing from my fb silver prints, air dried. I also remember doing a resolution
by contact printing a target on those papers 15 LPMM was the best one could do
 with a kodalith neg.

So, dot gain notwithstanding, anyone who has seen and inkjet print done well
would agree that it doesn't take a back seat to anyone's pet "historical"
process. Edward Weston once said "I don't care if you make a print on a bath
mat, as long as it's a good print."

Methinks most veteran folks here know what a good print is.

After all these years of hard work, we need not feel inferior about
our tools or process and avoid disclosure. The prints are beautiful
and have admirable longevity.
Those who cringe when you tell them prints are inkjet have some
catching up to do, and less than forthcoming behavior on our part does
not help them do so.
Wouldn't it have been good for all of us if that press release
proclaimed in nice proud verbiage that they are inkjet?
