\ufeffI can share my experiences with CIS and refilling virgin empty carts for those who are trying to decide which way to go. I have both quad and hex CIS units, one from nomorecarts and one from MIS. They both worked fine. The vacuum gadget from nomorecarts is slick and eliminates the air bubble problem. I used it on the MIS system. I found both systems needed a little imaginative modifications for the attachment points. They get out of alignment or pull loose. The hex system is particularly worrisome because once full of ink it weighs a lot and must take its toll on the print heads sloshing back and forth. I suspended the tubing from the ceiling at mid-point with a string and rubber band lanyard. Both CIS units worked without fail until I began switching ink sets. Then all sorts of problems arose. I have concluded that swapping around ink sets introduces air pockets and may dislodge sluge or something. Taking partially empty CIS units loose, storing them, and so forth may be inviting problems. You are required to take the cart holder mechanism off the printer to use the CIS. This may cause problems when you go back to using carts which should be securely seated. I used cardboard wedges but wasn't too confident in them. If you expect to use several ink sets you may want to only use carts. It isn't hard at all to fill carts if you follow the excellent MIS instructions. Fill two sets and keep one in a bag. That way any bubbles will have cleared up next time you change carts. You only need one syringe with quads and a pair of reusable latex gloves for sure. Get several sets of the exit hole rivets. btw the same rivets are available at the hardware store if you run out. Clear packaging tape also works. Fill a third cart with your favorite cleaner brew and use it between cart changes. Use the MIS purge files to get rolling again. AZ
