Your post got me thinking. All of the pigment inks available, are based on carbon. Why? Does anyone know if any other archival substances have been used, possibly even oxidized silver? It seems to me, that since the oxidized silver particles in a gelatin silver print are as small as they are, with the proper preparation and suspension, an alternative to the realm of carbon pigment prints could be explored.
