As far as profiling for B/W, you could use the spectrophotometer to profile that printer with the ICC module within Quadtone RIP. That ICC module is stand alone, so you don't have to use QTR to use the profiling. I never tried the included Design software to try and make a B/W profile, so I can't say if it will work or not.
