spongeless carts? ...What to do with a partially disabled 1160

Are other people finding that the spongeless carts and MIS inks do 
not require endless cleaning cycles etc.????  This would be great 
news to me.  I don't know how much life my 1160 has left in it, but 
since it works perfectly as-is, I'd prefer to use it while I watch 
other developments...
