>Photographers are not artist. They're photographers.< THAT is a stupid comment >I don't like when someone refers to me as an artist. I've never < >wanted to be one. Some are, some aren't >I've always wanted to be a photographer. That's what I am and that's < >what I want to be known as. Stanley Kubrick one of the greatest filmmakers of our time used to be a fashion photographer . . . to many, a facetious career at best, . . . . as a filmmaker he shone above most. Peter Greenaway, I won't list his films, . . . look up the titles, used to be a painter . . . it is blatantly obvious with his meticulously crafted direction (albeit somewhat hard to understand sometimes) . . . visual "metiers" can and are sometimes interchangeable or able to grow into another . . . photographers can be artists . . . as long as they don"t make it a "title" issue as opposed to doing what they are supposed to be doing, making unique or perceptive images. >My reply to Clayton regarding this matter was meant as a joke. No one < >should have taken it seriously. Paul Aparycki
