I just printed two of the same image, one on Matte paper with the QTR Matte curve; and another one on the same sheet of Matte paper with the QTR Glossy curve. The matte curve was created for the matte paper that was used for the printing (H'muhle Photo Matte); and the glossy curve was created for Epson Glossy Photo Paper. But for the Glossy curved image being slightly lighter in the upper values, they are so similar that viewed separately; they look identical. It's that close! Has anyone any idea why they are that close in appearance? If the printed images are going to be that much alike, why create different curves for matte and glossy paper?
