Vacuum filling? Not familiar with that method, but sounds intriguing.
I just followed the instructions MIS sent with the carts --
bottom-filling using syringes and bottom-fill adapters, injecting half
while holding the cart at a 45-degree angle and half while holding it
level.

Something tells me I shouldn't put these carts into my printer...

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
