BO Printing / MIS 2400 / Question for Paul Roark

2005-09-15 by joemulligan_68

Yesterday I resurructed my 1290 by running a fresh set of Epson Dyes
into it. It was ruined in the first place by experimenting with cheap
third party inks. At any rate, I was able to get the black channel
back to normal and decided to try a BO print using the Epson Dye. I
loaded up some Epson Glossy and was pleasantly surprised at the
result. I then loaded up some Ilford Smooth High Gloss was even more
surprised, a desktop Ilfochrome! I have been printing so much on
matte paper for B&W that I almost forgot how good a high gloss image
can look.

I know that Dye on Nanoporous media will have no chance lasting, so my
question is: Will there soon be an MIS neutral K pigment that doesn't
bronze? I have not yet tried the PKN inkset but read that while it
reduces bronzing, still has bronzing. Being irritated with bronzing
is what got me away from using glossy media in the first place. I read
in some previous posts that MIS would soon be releasing their version
of the 2400 inkset. Will this new K be the neutral K that does not
bronze? I am keeping my fingers crossed.
