If it is like mine, the plug is soft rubber (or silicone or something) and doesn't have a lip. You can use a safety pin to remove it; jab it into the plug about halfway and pry up (from the rear edge of the cart, next to the plug). It will pop right out. You might have to twist it a bit to get it back in. There are other suggestions for removing these plugs, too; there was a thread on this just a week or two ago. At the time, I didn't understand how some of the suggestions would work, but since I received a new "color" spongeless cart yesterday with the "mushroom" plugs, I now understand the confusion. (My earlier sets all had the no-lip kind.)
