I actually know people who got a new machine with XP
(Xtra Pretty as they call it), uninstalled it and put
in good ol' Win98 SE.  Of course, these people are
real "tweakers" and couldn't stand the
intrusive-integration of the whole thing. 
  I'm still on Win98 and have no plans to go to XP. 
One friend tried to install some small brand digital
camera software and got a warning stating that the
camera was "not approved to work with XP." 
No thanks.
