You need to put dye ink carts in there and see if your problem goes away. If so, the problem is in the cart. If not, ONLY THEN you can conclude it's a problem with the head clogging. You must do that to see if you want to address a cart or a head problem. I see no problems in going back and forth from dye to pigment inks. I've done it lots of times in several 1280's and an old 890. Clean the dye ink off the parking pad as Paul suggested. Others think it's not necessary but it doesn't hurt and is easy. I also agree with everyone else, printers love humidity and temp just does not seem to be a factor so long as it's in the range you would live in.
