Thanks for the feedback. By converting Grayscale to QTR Matte Black ICC in Photoshop I'm getting deep blacks now. The image now shows as RGB with 16-bit depth. The problem is that compared to BO, QTR output is putting out LOTS of ink to the point that the print is damp in the black areas. This can't be right. This is definitely exaggerating the banding affect that I posted about earlier. The BO and QTR prints are now very close in density but some detail in the shadows is lost in the QTR print I think simply due to the volumn of ink on the paper. Again, I'm using an Epson 2200, UC inks, Kayenta paper. BO is still my best option but perhaps some has some idea about the excessive ink issue. Dave. -- David Keenan, ausdlk@... on 9/28/2005
