Maybe 10 years ago the above statement would have been true. Avid systems were considered top-of-the-line, and they only ran on Macs. Now Avid sells into both platforms. Matrox makes some pretty interesting video editing systems, and as far as I know, they only run on PC's. Apple's market share hit it's peak a few years back when Apple licensed the operating system to other manufacturers, such as Radius, Power PC, and Motorola. It was around 15% or so, and rising. I believe their market share today is only around 3-5% and dropping.
