Digital BW, The Print

I finally got ColorBase to work with my Epson 2400.  I re-downloaded  
the EU version of ColorBase (OS X) and hooked up the 2400 via  
firewire.  ColorBase found the driver this time (last time was with  
USB and didn't see a driver it wanted) and went through the printing,  
measuring (i1), and calibration process without any glitches.  I used  
a sheet of Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Satin and selected Velvet Fine Art  
media type, to see what happens with a 3rd party paper type.  I'll  
also check to see if there is any effect when printing B&W via ABW  
and QTR-Create-icc generated profiles.  Specifically any linearity  
changes, pre/post ColorBase calibration.  Bottom line so far is that  
the EU version will work with USA 2400 printers.  Whether or not it  
is worth using remains to be seen.
