Carl, I cannot see how a calibration process can work if you choose to use a different paper. The numbers that Epson will be using to correct to will be from their printer printing on their papers. So you must use their papers for calibration. If you checked the Velvet Fine Art box, then your printers results will be corrected to match Epson's results on Velvet Fine Art. But if you used another paper, or another ink, or another drying time, etc., etc., your measurements will be useless, and correcting them to match Epson's will be pointless. After calibrating your printer, you can try other papers.
