Digital BW, The Print

I am trying out the solution from fixyourownprinter.com for my Epson 
4000, as it is now 1 year old and I am having to clean the heads 
constantly. I have moved the head out of the way and I can't tell which 
pads to place the cleaning fluid onto. Starting from the inside right 
side I see (1) 2 small side by side plastic trays, next to that going 
left I see (2) a flat looking pad with little screw heads with a few 
lines connecting them, next I see (3) the closes thing to a sponge that 
appears to be beneath a plastic grid of diamond shapes, then the last 
sponge looking pad I see (4) is a square slightly devided by a piece of 
plastic.
I placed the solution in #s 3 & 4 over night and nothing seems to have 
worked, should I have placed the solution into #2, a flat looking pad 
with little screw heads with a few lines connecting them, instead? If I 
have done it right whats next? Thanks anyone, mltphoto
