I found it to be a particularly good matte paper printer. I also print
glossy with the FSN+ inkset I have in my 7500.

I have a Readme file with my ealier Epson driver approach at
http://home1.gte.net/res09aij/2000P-FS-Readme.htm . Photoshop curves are at
http://home1.gte.net/res09aij/2000P-FS-curves.htm .

So, you'll have some alternative workflows, one of which is done and has
curves.

Also, I suspect the new R200 EZ inks would be the best and easiest solution
for old hextone printers, for both an Epson driver approach and a QTR or
other, more automated approach.

The Epson driver by itself or with, at most, simple grayscale curves is a
nice option to have.

The R200 EZ hextone inks are essentially the UT2 - UT7 densities and carbon
inks, with a new FSN mix. It includes the 7500 FSN+ new middle neutral
gray. The target of the EZ inksets it not just the R200. The whole base is
hopefully covered reasonably well -- for both the Epson driver and other
approaches.

I hope the QTR guys see the breadth of the base that a simple ICC and/or
curves + linearization set might be able to reach. I think as we move
forward, the old base will benefit from the economies of scale of being
closely related.

I have put a new tutorial aimed at "EZ" manual linearization via PS curves
that can be loaded as transfer functions in the driver. We need a
non-Photoshop, open solution that utilizes the Epson driver and offers both
manual, visual and instrument linearization.

I limited the inks in my 7500 also to avoid flooding glossy papers.
