Re: Epson 2200 Ultrachrome to UT7 Ink Switch - Your Experiences

2005-10-29 by Louis Dina

John, I have used both UC and UT& inks on my 2200 with both QTR and
IJC/OPM. I haven't had any problems with clogging or anything else.
The clear, easy-fill carts are easy to refill and the chip resetter
works fine.

I have used the UC inks a lot more than the UT7. My experience is
that with good profiles, the UC inks are fine and I didn't find the
UT7 inks to give me much or any more. Someone who has dedicated a
lot of time to monochrome inksets might find differently.

All my profiles for the UC inks and IJC/OPM don't use any yellow inks
(except the sepia profiles) so metamerism doesn't seem to be an issue.

I still have the UT7 inks, so can use them if I wish, but don't see a
huge advantage. But, like I said, dedicated users might find
differently.

Lou
