Am I inviting trouble by > doing this on the same printer by swapping cartridges? I swap carts all the time. With some care, it's no problem. What I do with the old cart is rinse the outlet off with a squirt of water from a syringe. I then put a piece of tape over the outlet (with an end folded over to make removal easy). These procedures are to avoid the possibility of ink drying on the outlet and then getting into the head. Previously used carts that have been treated this way almost always give perfect nozzle checks when re-installed. By the way, with cotton papers I prefer to use a warm cart in the Y position, with neutral ones in the M & C. This, to me, gives a more evenly-toned ramp. Many cotton papers get an excessively cool shadow area otherwise. Paul www.PaulRoark.com
