Help! My Epson 2200 has started printing soft prints. They have much more grain, and they seem to have grey halos that give the whole print a slightly out-of-focus look. The effect is only noticeable if you look close: 3 ft away, I can't tell, but 1 ft away I can see easily. The most bizarre thing is that the problem seems to mostly go away when I print at 2880 rather than 1440. This is very odd, because I've never noticed an improvement before at the higher resolution, and the halos are big -- perhaps 0.25mm. The high speed toggle makes no difference. Has anyone experienced this before? I'm using UT7 inks with Roark's curves on Mac OS X. Things I did recently: I got banding ine of the colors, so I ran a cartridge of MIS cleaning fluid through it. I also switched to filling my own cartridges using MIS's kit. I installed QTR experimentally, and removed and reinstalled the Epson drivers. Nozzle checks and purge prints come out fine. I've realigned the print heads and filled ink cartridges that were low. Any suggestions would be very welcome. --Daniel
