Re: [Digital BW] Canon Super high Gloss and Kodak Phot Pro Luster questions

2005-11-18 by Bert Katzung

Hi Byron:
I haven't tried B&W, but I just ran a color print on one of my two sample
sheets of Kodak PhotoPro Luster paper and it did a very nice job using the
profile that they recommend (downloaded from the Kodak website). As far as I
can see, the tonality and density is nearly identical to Epson Premium
Luster paper (using the Epson profile for that paper). Of course, Wilhelm
doesn't agree with Kodak's claims for longevity, so I'm not using it for
prints that I sell.
Hope this helps....
Bert

questions

I just was given some A3 sized packs of the two papers above. Has
anyone used either of these with an Epson 2200? If so, what are your
thoughts on the charateristics of the papers? What sort of profiles
would be likely to get the best results with these? (My general
workflow uses PS CS2 to convert to B+W from digital and print to the
2200 using QTR.)

Thanks!
